UPDATE
Researchers at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital have collected 23 tumor samples from children with diffuse brainstem glioma since Tyler's tumor donation in February 2006 (Tyler Scott's tumor sample was the first one dominated).  Researchers have analyzed the quality of DNA obtained from these samples and it was excellent in all but 3 tumors.  They have also analyzed the quality of the RNA obtained from the 23 samples and are preparing a final report.  Researchers would like to collect and study a minimum of 7 more tumor samples before they start the analysis of the genetic make-up
of the tumor samples.

For more information on the study, please visit www.tylerstreehouse.org.

The Cure Starts Now   http://www.thecurestartsnow.org/

Thank you to everyone for making The Cure Starts Now Holiday Card Sale a success.  With over 11,000 cards sold, we were ecstatic with the chance to increase awareness while honoring Andrew, Ellie, and Caleb.  We would also like to thank everyone who passed the word around about the Good Morning America interview and the feature article on AOL.  We have gotten an overwhelming number of responses from these pieces and a large number of people offering to have fundraisers and help spread awareness, which was our number one goal.  We will keep everyone abreast of the progress of our other national appearances.  Please remember if you are interested in attending The Cure Starts Now “Once in a Lifetime Gala” we are offering families of brain cancer patients free tickets.  The event is on March 7th at Cincinnati Music Hall Ballroom and promises to be as amazing as last year’s event.  Please email Brooke at brooke@thecurestartsnow.org to reserve your seats and to get discount lodging details.  We would love to have you as part of this event.  We also need families of children currently battling brain cancer to record interviews as requested by our media sponsors for several fundraisers.  If you are interested, please email Brooke at brooke@thecurestartsnow.org .
